Last night was WONDERFUL! Lily slept from 9:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. It was so nice! Of course she still isn't eating very good though. When I took her in for her doctor's appointment this morning they tested her oxygen while she was sleeping. It was down to 89%. But when they tested it when she was awake it shot clear up into the upper 90's. YAY! The doctor still seems a little worried about her though. He said to watch her close through the day and if she gets any worse to call and let him know. So far she is doing really well. The nebulizer treatments seem to help her quite a bit.
At the doctor's office I had to undress her to get her weighed again. She weighs 13 lbs now! She had a pretty soggy diaper so I decided to change her before she got weighed. As I was switching to another diaper she coughed and..... SPEW! She blew yellow poop all over my coat and her jammies. UGH! Luckily it wiped right off my coat, but she had to wear a plain onesie the rest of the time. She was so cute though. When the doctor was listening to her chest and checking her out she just kept grinning and smiling at him. He kept commenting on what a happy baby she was. I love how much she is smiling now. She will pretty much smile at anyone that makes eye contact with her. Even from across the room. It's so fun!! I love smiley babies.

Lily is 3 months old . . . and sick :(
Wow! After puking up amniotic fluid and meconium for the first few days of life, then having mom not produce enough milk to satisfy her, to then dealing with Thrush and yeast infections for the next two months and learning today that she has RSV....... I'd have to say, it's been a very long 3 months for both of us.
Lily started coughing a few days ago, but last night was long and terrible. When she'd breath she would take really shallow breaths and then hold it for a little bit and then start coughing and then cry. Pretty soon, she just kept crying and I couldn't get her to stop. She hasn't eaten good the last few days either. She will only nurse from one side then gags, screams and fights not to have to nurse from the other side. The one really good thing about this is that now I have some extra milk pumped for when we need a babysitter!
Dylan has actually been coughing and had a very runny nose for a few days too, so I took them both into the doctor. Dylan just has a cold, but they tested Lily and sure enough she has RSV. Her oxygen count was at 92% and the insurance will only cover it if she is 88% or lower. The doctor was annoyed with this because he said at some point her oxygen WILL go lower then that. He said it always goes lower at night when they are sleeping. But they did have some people come out to our house and bring a nebulizer machine and had me make another appointment for tomorrow morning to see if her oxygen is still low. Needless to say, it wasn't a very fun way to celebrate her 3 month birthday! The doctor said that we could take her to the hospital but for one; it usually is very disruptive for a family to do that and two; there are a lot more illnesses she could pick up just from being there. I agreed so I brought her home. I sure hope tonight is better then last night for her AND for us. Poor little girl.
